time for planning
I think that it is more difficult to plan for some reason this year. slowly getting the calendar out, slowly marking those important unchanging dates and slowly adding goals...

the new year and some thoughts
Most of the thoughts i have are centered lately around this: am i doing things that stay close to my stated objectives: to know Christ and make Him known? so, of course the central theme will be to look for ways to achieve satisfaction and to hear: "well done thy good and faithful servant" some day.
today i am certain that the disciplines of life can move me down that road, along with a sense of humor, a sense of expectation, and heavy doses of prayer, scripture, fellowship, and evangelism.

life, ain't it grand
the grand meaning the awesome trip of grandparenting. it is a privilege and responsibility. i find myself with two of our grandchildren and often moved to prayer over their precious lives. laughing cooing jumping singing crying whispering its all good. in two weeks we will have the three grandchildren all in one location for a couple of days what a joy i am in awe of the Creator God of the universe!

a child is born
Our daughter is expecting, why do they call it expecting? well i guess it seems to be that way. So, when a woman tells people she is expecting, the response is universal--she is pregnant. there is no question, like what are you expecting...that would be silly. the word expecting carries a very forward, positive tone, does it not? i think so. the expecting is a good thing, for most. Again, our daughter is not only expecting, but the time is upon her! this child, loved already by all of us has been forming inside her willing womb for these months is coming soon! He, yes his name is "Sam" for short and final has been long expected and anticipated. What a lovely gift to "expect" and then have the expectation resolved in the birth of a precious child. today however, many women choose to end the "expectation" and terminate the life within their unwilling wombs. this is a sad legacy our country has left. the survivors--i mean those children born in the last 30 years have no idea who they are missing in class, in church, in their own work space...Dear God, may you continue to grant us mercy so we can stop the senseless killing of our children

Dear Charlie is out forraging for a deer and i am heading to my cc match! Whew! is this election stressful for everyone else too? we are heading to the end of the line here and with so much happening it appears that on the eve of destruction we have to entreat the saviour of the world to intervene on behalf of the muddled masses who have been mesmerized. God, Please do not let a socialist, leftist, smooth talker take over the US. anne
